graphics are pretty and the dialogue is *chefs kiss*.

I love it! All I request is the ability to rebind my controls, and you keep going!! I know this could easily become an amazing concept implemented into a full game some day!

Too scripted.  I get the point is inevitable defeat, but the game starts cheating to keep it going.  Hits on the hero don't register, and so forth.   Makes me say "  that's fucking lame."

(-1)

It's possible to beat the hero.

(+2)(-1)

It is but but for what I've seen it's scripted for your second form to trigger once (the hero is invincible) all the other time i fought him it could be damaged

He get armour that give more i-frames

I did my first play trough its very sad he could realy give up

(+2)

A nice take on the genre, it just feels a bit strange that the hits for the 1st ability don't always register. Like it feels like it should, but it doesn't. In both forms. But at the same time I understand the "need" for it to fail sometimes.

In video games, the player often has these sort of "Coyote time" effects. For example, you can often jump off of a ledge even if you're well off the ledge, or the enemy hitboxes are larger than them and your hitbox is smaller than you. These are implemented to make the game easier and have a 'close call' feeling way more often which creates more excitement and feeling of mastery. Naturally it makes sense to implement that for the player character in this game.

I am pretty sure the hitbox only registers in the mace itself giving plenty of room for missing the ability, but even if that is not the case I did noticed how inconsistent pressing 1 tends to be. If not intentional it should at least have a visual update so those should-hits look more like no-hits

I switched to using only 2 and 3 looking to cheese hero making them dodge towards the walls where I can consistently get hits with 2, which tbh felt really boss like of my part to be unfair like that.

I've only done one playthrough as of now and the story is nice! The fighting is a bit frustrating, with the Hero able to predict my combos (despite me never using that particular one before), but it's for the story progression I guess.  Guess bro just has really thick plot armour.

I think the combat just felt a wee bit bad because it was basically impossible to defeat the Hero in your first phase once you start showing off the second phase, but other than that I have no complaints lol. It's a reallyy good game and definitely a must try.

Switch up youre strategy

Is there any ending where the queen survives?

Or both of them do?

I just finished my first playthrough and the queen is the survivor for me, after the hero starts getting cocky during second phase winning just became super easy during the first phase again.

ı loved it

Absolutely great game. Really good job with it!!

game won’t download for me i’m on ios

(+1)

This is a game for PC. It only runs on Windows, Mac, or Linux.

A wonderful game

(+6)

Bro Im gonna cry, make a good ending 🙏pls

(+5)

Enjoyed your little game a lot.

But I REALLY  wish there was a good ending for both the queen and the hero, even more after seeing how the Queen began to hug dearly the hero at some point along the way.

Keei it up!

Idk if this is a bug or not, but after the second time i went second phase, the hero just keeps running it down, and now for some reason i have contact damage and i can't progress anymore

(+2)

I really enjoyed how many ending variations there were! Looks like there are 3 main endings, but multiple variations on dialogue depending on how you attacked and what you said. That's so cool! I feel one of the endings could have been developed more, because it does loop continuously in dialogue if you choose to not see it through. It eventually leads to one of the other endings.

Did I gamer rage a little when my mace clearly went through the player but idk. Invincibility frames? Makes me feel like an actual boss lol.

After 9 endings/variations it does make me feel a little hopeless haha. In at least the endings I reached, the Queen really doesn't feel like a player but an "it," so I enjoy how frustrated I feel.

You can finish one ending in ~20 minutes, but some endings can be reached much faster. 100% give it a try but don't quit after one ending imo.

I lost and I hate losing, I need revenge. That Hero must die!!!

"An error occurred during installation. No manager for installer unknown" -- won't download for linux

wont download for with linux version

What distro are you on?

Im using whatever steamos is using for base. Downloading from steamdeck desktop mode. Sorry new to all this

That would be based on Arch, in which case I'm not experienced enough with Arch to provide much help.

Ahhhh that’s fine but thank you tho!

So, I don't know why, but I'm getting like 10 frames per second and it's forced to full screen. That's a real shame, cuz due to the lack of frames I could hardly do anything but get stuck standing there and die(which is apparently one of the endings).

Guys I’m on iPad and I downloaded the game file with the apple symbol next to it, how do I access the game?

(1 edit) (+1)

Sorry to disappoint but that apple logo means Mac not iOS device

oh crap

(-1)

do any of them work for iPad?

nope, sorry

.

Damn. That's a really beautiful game. Well done.

(+1)

Now for a progression game where you are the hero

(+1)

that's just a normal game

I love it! Was so romantic at the end

(+2)

I'm not crying my eyes are just sweating

(+3)

esta bueno el juego me gusto la interaccion entre el heroe y la villana

(+5)

this is really good; it reminds me of slay the princess and the way it facilitates dialog is very cool; theres lots of good storytelling just in one room based on how the characters are set up, and it subverts classic game logic. i really enjoyed this and the little animation switch when you go to burn the player's corpse made me sad 😭

(+2)(-6)

Eventually I saw no point in fighting in the first form, just waited to get to second. And apparently that leads to a specific ending? Where I can't defend myself?

Feels like a failure of design imo. Let me feeling annoyed.

(+2)(-1)

the hero was pretty clear you should at least try a little. he warned you like three times. that's not a failure of design, that's a failure of your literacy

(+4)

No, don't be rude. The hero said "if you don't want to try, fine, I won't hold back" at the last time. The game should have given you an option to have a go at the end rather than forcing you to stop. Ironically forcing you to stop and taking away control I think goes against the game's message of accepting and embracing change. They could have done something with that. I for one wanted to go again and actually try after his final warning and I was disappointed when it wouldn't let me. It should be a player choice because not letting us do it goes against its own narrative.

(+1)

Hm. I did get that, when trying second time. He gave me a choice to which the answers were "Fine. Let us dance." and "No. I do not wish to hurt you."

(+1)

woah! This game was absolutely amazing! I did not expect that!

(+2)

Top. Dark Souls players never give up!

(+7)(-12)

get rid of the queen i cant focus with a boner

(+5)

This game was super fun! I really enjoyed the way the queen interacted with the hero. It was also a very unique playstyle compared to most other singleplayer games.

Overall, great game!

GREAT CONCEPT

(+2)

the comment contains a spoiler from the game

I find the ending where after the first transformation into a demon, the queen kills the hero too many times before the transformation and he doesn't come back in the end to be the saddest.

she won, but at what cost. Left, alone, for eternity.

Is it really that sad? There's peace in solitude.

(+5)

This game represent the perfect image of the player who try again and again to defeat a boss. But this time the boss know you are reviving. A super nice game. Try it now !

Wow just wow, great game, attacks feel heavy and the fights feel smoot, great graphics, gj

melancholia.

castle of cold stone.

a fate fast approaching.

the mourning of a stillborn relationship.

(+6)

This game perfectly portrays how it always felt for me to fight the bosses in Souls games. It always felt oddly intimate and tragic in a very personal way that no other games could recreate, up to this point.

I'm glad this idea that I have seen on the internet a few times was used to tell a compelling story. I loved how it deconstructed the relationship between player and bosses and the difference between the two, instead of just being a joke game that heavy relies on this gimmick.

I very rarely play games, especially small short indie games (I just made the account tbh), but this one is definitely a gem I'd like to keep in my mind.

(+7)

I hate you,  shit made me want to cry! 1000/10, gave me some really good ideas/story for games to make.

Further you play, it seems like his hitbox gets smaller due to attacks that showed it hit him yet didn't.

Bug (I think): with 2nd and 3rd attack of normal fight, when you do 3rd attack and immediately 2nd attack, there will be times where he doesn't jump and wont get damaged.
